Through Canon’s RedStraps initiative, we helped mentor Australia’s next generation of visual storytellers, providing hands-on guidance, real-world skills and the confidence to grow their creative careers.

Project Description

Canon Australia engaged us to help deliver their RedStraps mentorship program, an initiative created to support and inspire emerging photographers and videographers across the country. Over the course of 12 weeks, we guided 22 participants through a structured and immersive learning experience, covering both the creative and commercial sides of their craft.

The program included weekly Zoom calls, custom learning modules, practical assignments, and detailed feedback sessions. We led tailored sessions in both video and photography, drawing on real industry experience to help participants sharpen their skills and build confidence in their creative direction.

Alongside the weekly mentoring, we produced a series of business-focused vlogs and ran a private Facebook group where participants could connect, ask questions, and receive ongoing support. The program culminated in live workshops at Sun Studios in Sydney and Melbourne, where participants engaged in panel discussions, technical training, and Q&As with leading industry professionals.

Due to the success of the 2020 program, Canon brought us back to deliver a second intake in 2021.
